Master´s Programme in Social Anthropology (courses, schedules and literature)

Learning objectives

After having satisfactorily completed the programme the student should:

  • Have a profound knowledge of social anthropological theory of science, methods and theory
  • Have insight into a number of theoretical and/or regional areas of specialization
  • Have an understanding of a number of areas of specialization within applied anthropology and the demands that they make on anthropological knowledge and perspectives
  • Have prepared a social anthropological research project and carried out fieldwork
  • Have written a longer thesis based on an ethnographic field investigation
  • Be well-acquainted with and capable of academic writing

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen/180 HE credits) in Anthropology or the equivalent in the social or cultural sciences. For English language competence, see www.universityadmissions.se.
